Jackson Battles for Victory Over Pistol Shrimp
JACKSON, Tenn.- The Rockabillys fought hard and eventually defeated the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp 6-4 Saturday evening.
There was timely hitting in crucial spots for the Goats, who had recently struggled with that aspect. This became evident in the first, when Cade Miles smacked a two out single up the middle to get the Rockabillys on the board.
The following inning, Gregory Berroa unleashed a three run homer, which was a part of a 4-for-5 performance for Berroa. The three run blast placed the Goats comfortably in the driver's seat.
Jack Mclaury received his first start of the year and put together a commendable six inning outing, where he struck out six and gave up three earned runs.
During the seventh, with the score 4-3, Jackson would pop in a run on a double from returner Merik Carter, and eventually plate another on a pair of walks from Ivan Vega and Miles.
That would be more than enough to get the job done for the Rockabillys. Despite the Pistol Shrimp hitting three bombs, Jackson eased their way to victory, snapping a four game skid in the process.
Goats Notes: The Goats have one more contest at home tonight versus Cape before they take off on a six game road trip. First pitch this afternoon is set for 7:00 p.m. At Rockabillys Stadium, it is Texas Roadhouse Family Night, and Art at the Park night!
