Jackson Completes Improbable Comeback Versus O'Fallon

JACKSON, Tenn.- This Rockabillys squad embraces the challenge night in and night out, and that showed in Saturday's late rally which saw the 'Billys plate six in the eighth to defeat O'Fallon 9-7.

Both teams were able to score some runs in the first, as O'Fallon jumped out to a one run lead on a sacrifice fly. This was swiftly answered by the Goats, with Adriel Vega smacking a double and his brother Ivan Vega sending a deep fly to left to score the pair.

O'Fallon, utilizing a strong performance from their starter Brayden Schnurbusch, was eventually able to capture a four run lead. This came in the fourth and fifth as Matthew Riley's night eventually came to a close.

Jackson had been able to get runners on, but struggled mightily to string together timely hits, and they were at risk of losing their first three game home series of the year. Instead, with their backs against the wall in the eighth, they put their foot down, and got to work.

They unloaded on Hoots reliever Joey Funk, to the tune of six hits, and all of them were singles. It was a thousand paper cuts, and the gashes were too much for the Hoots to handle, as timely base knocks from Charlie JuryBrooks Jones, and Adriel put the 'Billys up by two late.

This brought in all-star closer Jaxson Lucas, who would slam the door and collect his eighth save of the season.

The Vega Brothers

It was a couple exceptional performances from sibling duo Adriel Vega and Ivan Vega, who combined to go 5-for-10 with three RBI, three runs scored, and three extra base hits. The highlight of the evening was a homer by Ivan to plate his brother Adriel, which is the second time that has occurred this year.
