Jackson Blitzes Thrillville in 15-4 Victory
MARION, Ill. - The Rockabillys, who ended the first half of the season with consecutive losses to the Thrillbillies, got their revenge in a demolition of their interdivisional rivals Thursday night.
Ivan Vega and Charlie Jury delivered an appetizer in the first, as Jackson scored a trio of runs thanks to the pair snagging a single and a double that plated Cade Miles, Drew Blalock and Vega himself.
As mentioned before though, this was simply an appetizer to a behemoth third inning in which the Goats would ultimately collect ten runs on eight total hits. Jury doubled twice in that inning, and obtained his third two-bagger of the day. Adriel Vega, Brooks Jones, and Jake Maddox waltzed into the hit parade as well, and from here on out, the Goats would coast their way to a win.
Jackson corralled two more runs in the fifth for good measure, thanks to the combo of Vega and Jury once again, and that would ensure they'd have the best offensive performance of the season.
The pitching staff fed off the energy from the bats, and used five different arms to complete the seven inning contest. Notably, Bradey Moad, who hasn't officially made a collegiate pitching appearance, toed the rubber during the seventh and was even awarded the win as he allowed one hit and struck out the side.
Jury Is In Session
Charlie Jury had one of the best single game performances, not only of the season, but in franchise history. Jury went 4-for-5 with three doubles, six RBI, and a run scored. He accounted for just under half of the runs in the game for the Rockabillys, and looks to return his renewed sense of confidence to Tennessee.
Goats Notes: The Rockabillys are right back to it tonight at Rockabillys Stadium against the O'Fallon Hoots. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. It is a MUST-WATCH game, as not only will there be incredible baseball, but also an incredible fireworks show to celebrate the 4th of July!
