Jackson Run-Ruled as First Half of Season Ends

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.- The first half of the Prospect League season came to a close as the Rockabillys were overpowered by Cape in a 10-0 final after just seven innings.

Cape scored one right away, but were held off by Ethan Ell for a bit before they eventually broke through. This came as a wave of runs poured across from the fourth onwards for the Catfish.

One in the fourth, two in the fifth, three in the sixth, and the final blow of three more in the seventh sent the Rockabillys packing in a night they'll want to forget.

Offense was at a minimum, with only four 'Billys players collecting hits. Brett Rogers and Jack Runsick both swung it the best for Jackson, but each just went 1-for-3. Rogers had the lone extra base hit for Jackson.

Hard Reset

Despite the disappointing free fall from first to fourth in the south division standings, this doesn't spell the end to the Rockabillys season. There is still a second half that remains for the 'Billys to try and work their way into the playoffs, but they'll quickly need to find their groove, or they risk falling further into a hole that they may not be able to crawl out of.

Goats Notes: The Goats will get a break from the south division, as they take on the Terre Haute REX, who have been on a recent tear over their past ten games. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. tonight at Rockabillys Stadium. It is Rockabillys Pickers Night at the stadium as well!
