Jackson Handles Dubois County in Game Two
JACKSON, Tenn. - The Rockabillys controlled the game from the first pitch on their way to a game two victory over the Bombers, 10-4.
Starter Trey Watson powered through five innings, giving up four earned runs but doing enough to maintain the Goats' lead. Ten runs scored, but the 'Billys were outhit by the Bombers ten-to-eight. So, what was the difference maker that vaulted Jackson passed the visitor? Simply put, the Rockabillys were nearly perfect in taking advantage of Dubois County mistakes.
15 Rockabillys were ushered for a free 90 feet thanks to a Bombers pitching staff that couldn't find the strike zone, leading to nine of their ten runs. On top of that, a pair of throwing errors by Dubois aided the 'Billys on their way to a win.
Jack Pitts went 2-for-2 and possessed a 1.000 OBP, Drake Blackwood smacked three singles in a 3-for-5 outing, and reliever Chase Armstrong dealt out three innings of one hit baseball en route to a smooth victory for the Goats.
Finally!
We saw a complete performance, where the Rockabillys controlled the contest from start-to-finish with no need for a last second rally. Now, they set themselves up for a chance to take a third straight rubber match, and continue to contend for first place in the western conference.
